Bankruptcy
My practice assists clients obtain a fresh start from their financial woes by filing Chapter 7, Chapter 11, or Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Through this process, individual or corporate clients may discharge some or all of their debt. Depending on which chapter clients file under, initiation of a bankruptcy petition may stop certain creditor actions. This gives the client an opportunity to sort out his or her finances and obligations while working with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to resolve outstanding debts.
No one wants to go through bankruptcy, but it is a tool in our economic system used to incentivize entrepreneurship and production. There is no shame in it. Many individuals and businesses have been able to successfully recover financially after a bankruptcy although it may take some time and patience. *There is no charge for the initial consultation if during its course either party decides to decline representation.
